CNA TRAINING PROGRAM
The Higher Learning CNA Training Program prepares students for employment as entry-level Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in a variety of healthcare settings, including skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, home health agencies, and private homes. Under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals, such as Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care.
To accommodate a variety of schedules, we offer both daytime and evening class options.
The program begins with seven weeks of classroom instruction and hands-on skills training, where students learn the essential nursing assistant skills required to provide quality care. Instruction includes activities of daily living (ADLs), infection prevention and control, vital signs, communication techniques, resident rights, safety procedures, personal care skills, and specialized care for individuals in a variety of healthcare settings.
During the final week of the program, students complete their required clinical experience in a licensed healthcare facility. This supervised clinical rotation provides the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge and hands-on skills while caring for residents in a real-world healthcare environment under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
Success in the CNA program requires a genuine desire to care for others, professionalism, dependability, and a strong commitment to learning. Students should demonstrate excellent attendance, effective communication skills, emotional maturity, physical stamina, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, patients, residents, and their families.
Our curriculum is approved by the State of Wisconsin and is specifically designed to prepare students for success on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Competency Exam. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Competency Exam and begin pursuing rewarding career opportunities in the healthcare field. Please note that the state competency examination fee is separate from program tuition and is not included in the cost of the course.
